Meet Our Team

My love for the environment began when I was 10 years old. It was in the walls of my fifth grade classroom the first time I had ever heard about climate change. When I got home that day I made and hung up "save the earth" signs around the neighborhood that I grew up in. Years passed by and I eventually went on to earn a degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in Sustainable Built Environments from the University of Arizona in May of 2021.

I never knew what to say when I was asked "what do you want to do when you grow up?" 

I didn't always say it, but the only answer I ever truly felt in my bones was: "something that MATTERED." 

After I graduated, and armed with knowledge, I racked my brain thinking of the best, most impactful thing I could do for people, the environment, and our communities. The idea began with a humble garden in the backyard of my parent's house, right before the COVID-19 Pandemic hit. It then gradually became an idea with greater emphasis on urban farming and the use of hydroponic systems that which use less resources, space, and time than traditional farming, with higher crop yields, too. 

Thus, Planted with Purpose was created - my answer, a solution to help build sustainable places to live, help mitigate climate change, eradicate environmental injustice, and to rebuild how we think about food.
